Rachel’s Senior Sessions

We did our first high school senior shoot of the new year! Below are some photos from Rachel’s session which also included some poses with her mom and two buddies, Jaime and Amanda.

Rachel wanted outdoor photos too, and we did not let the snow stop us. In fact, I love how they came out! A little snow and some cold weather dressing gave Rachel a unique session unlike any others we did last year!

Benefits of the Engagement Session

Posted in Brides and Grooms, Engagement with tags , , , on February 2, 2009 by steadmanphotography

Steadman Photography includes a complimentary engagement session with all wedding day coverage. Sometimes the couple asks us to eliminate the engagement session hoping this will save money. There are cases where distance makes it impossible to schedule this session with our couples, and in such cases we are willing to make compensation. But if this is not the case, then we feel the engagement session is one of the best preparations our couples can have in anticipation of their wedding day!

Russell  calls it “Rehearsal Photography”. By this he means it is the one chance both you and your photographer will have to work together before your wedding. You will see first hand what it’s like to be in front of the camera. You will be able to share with your photographer your wishes and preferences. You’ve heard the expression “get my good side” and that’s part of what we’re  accomplishing here.  We also address problems with blinking or squinting with simple solutions and concentrate on how the light responds to the texture and color of your hair.  Taking the time to do an engagement session will ensure your wedding photographs will be everything you hoped for.

The engagement session is a win-win for both you and your photographer. He or she gets to work with you before the wedding, see how you photograph, learn what you like and dislike, and establish a rapport with both of you before that all important day. You get to give important feedback to your photographer while having the experience of being photographed before your wedding day . . . PLUS the added benefit of having fun!! That’s right, we have been told many times that the engagement session was fun.

Here are some photos from our 2008 engagement sessions:
